Natural Ways to Keep Your Hair Healthy and Moisturized

There are thousands of products available that advertise they are made to keep your hair healthy and moisturized.

Though some of these products do work, most of them aren’t natural. Fortunately, there are some natural ways to keep your hair healthy and moisturized.

Dry hair can be frizzy, untamable, and develop split ends. There are many things that can cause hair to dry out, such as swimming, overexposure to the sun, and products that contain alcohol.

In addition, hair can get damaged by rough brushing and using heat products without proper protection.

Many shampoos and conditioners you can buy are sulfate-based. Though sulfate-based shampoos and conditioners can work to effectively clean your hair, they can be harsh as well. They are known to strip your hair of its essential oils and irritate your scalp.

Adding natural products into your routine is a great way to revitalize your hair. Not only will going natural help moisturize your hair, but it will also keep it strong and shiny.

There are some great natural ways to help your hair out and some of these products you may already have in your home.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has many uses. You may think of it as something you would only use in the kitchen, but it can be very beneficial to your hair.

Combine two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with a half cup of water. Add the mix to damp hair and let it sit for five minutes before rinsing. It will help strengthen your hair's cuticles and keep it shiny.

Raw Honey and Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Raw honey has several natural benefits. Not only does it taste delicious and can help soothe the common cold, but it can also benefit your hair and skin. It can help your hair retain moisture and restore nutrients.

Heat up equal parts honey and extra virgin olive oil in the stovetop, stirring regularly until warm. Apply to damp hair and cover your head with a shower cap. Let it sit for 30 minutes before washing out for strong, soft hair.

Coconut Oil

If you struggle with dry hair, coconut oil is a great solution. It provides your hair with moisture and helps promote healthy growth. It will help repair damaged split ends and tame your frizzy hair.

Apply the coconut oil to the ends of your damp hair before washing it off. If your hair is really dry, you may live it on overnight before washing in the morning.

For shiny, moisturized hair, evenly apply ¼ cup of plain Greek yogurt on your hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, rinse your hair and wash it with shampoo and conditioner.

Egg and Olive Oil

Eggs are much more than a delicious and healthy breakfast. They can provide deep moisturizing for your hair to help give it shine and strength.

An egg can be mixed with a couple of tablespoons of olive before being applied to your hair. Let the treatment sit for at least an hour before rinsing it out with cold water.
